Virginia RADEP – Reckless & Aggressive Driver Education Program
The Virginia Reckless & Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP) is a court-recognized educational requirement ordered in connection with serious traffic offenses, including reckless and aggressive driving. This program is designed to address unsafe driving behavior, reinforce accountability, and reduce the likelihood of repeat violations.
The RADEP program offered through www.ineedaclass.com is structured to meet Virginia court expectations and provides official documentation confirming successful completion when ordered by a judge.
Purpose of the Virginia RADEP Program
Court-Directed Behavioral Education
RADEP is a specialized education program intended for drivers whose conduct demonstrates elevated risk to public safety. Unlike standard driver improvement courses, RADEP focuses on behavioral correction, judgment, and responsibility, rather than point reduction.
Virginia courts order RADEP to ensure drivers fully understand:
- The seriousness of reckless and aggressive driving offenses
- The legal and personal consequences of unsafe behavior
- The obligation to operate a motor vehicle responsibly
- The expectation of compliance with all court directives
Completion of RADEP serves as formal acknowledgment that the participant has received structured instruction addressing the underlying causes of the offense.
Court-Ordered RADEP Eligibility
Drivers Commonly Ordered to Complete RADEP
Judges throughout Virginia may require RADEP completion for individuals charged with or convicted of:
- Reckless driving by speed or conduct
- Aggressive driving offenses
- Excessive speeding
- Repeat serious traffic violations
- Driving behavior presenting a heightened public safety risk
RADEP may be ordered as a condition of sentencing, license consideration, or case resolution, and must be completed exactly as directed by the court.

Participants must complete the exact program specified by the court order.

The RADEP Course, also known as the Virginia Reckless Aggressive Driver Education Program, is a comprehensive 12-hour driver education course that is divided into two parts. In order to fulfill the 12-hour requirements of the reckless / aggressive driver education program (RADEP), the course combines the American Automobile Association's 8-hour Driver Improvement Program Course (Part 1) with the National Safety Council's 4-hour Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving Course (Part 2). The first session (Part 1) consists of the standard Virginia DMV 8-hour Driver Improvement Course, while the second session (Part 2) is an additional 4-hour class that specifically addresses reckless and aggressive driving behavior. Typically, this two-part 12-hour course is assigned by a Virginia court to drivers who have committed offenses such as reckless driving that do not involve alcohol.
Important Notice:
To successfully complete the Virginia 12-hour RADEP course with our institution, please review and follow these requirements carefully.
1. Full Course Completion:
Students are free to attend the 12-hour Virginia RADEP course at any accredited institution. However, if you choose to complete the course with our institution, you must finish both parts of the full 12-hour RADEP course exclusively at our school. We do not accept certificates from other institutions under any circumstances. If a student has completed part of the course elsewhere, they will need to retake both parts at our institution to meet our completion requirements.
2. In-Person or Virtual Classroom Attendance:
The entire 12-hour RADEP course must be completed either in-person at our institution or via live virtual sessions. These sessions are conducted in real-time, with active participation and attendance monitored throughout. Online-only formats, such as pre-recorded or self-paced modules, are not approved and will not fulfill course requirements. Students must attend the full duration of each session for both parts. Missing any portion of the course will result in an incomplete status, requiring students to reschedule and complete any missed sessions to meet course requirements.
3.Sequential Course Structure:
The RADEP course is divided into two parts, which must be completed in sequence. Part 1 must be completed before Part 2. While students are encouraged to register for both parts in advance, they will not be allowed to attend Part 2 until Part 1 is successfully completed. If a student fails to complete Part 1, their registration and attendance for Part 2 will be postponed until they meet this requirement. Similarly, if any scheduled session is missed, the student will need to reschedule and complete the missed session before moving forward. Failure to complete any part will delay the overall completion of the course.
Please make sure you fully understand and comply with these guidelines to avoid any delays or issues in completing the Virginia 12-hour RADEP course. If you have any questions or need further clarification, contact our administration office for assistance.
