RADEP
This program is for drivers who have engaged in acts of reckless driving such as following too closely, failing to yield, improper lane changing, improper passing, disobeying signs and signals, and speeding, especially in relation to road and traffic conditions. These behaviors may lead to crashes, collisions (especially at intersections) and “road rage”.
RADEP is a 12-hour program offered for persons charged with non-alcohol related reckless and/or aggressive driving offenses. The program is presented in one 8-hour session (Segment One) and one 4-hour session (Segment Two).
Segment One: Driver Improvement Program (DIP)
This 8-hour segment is based on the DMV approved American Automobile Associations (AAA) Driver Improvement Curriculum. Attendance and successful completion of this 8-hour segment is a prerequisite to participate in the National Safety Council (NSC) 4-hour Reckless Aggressive session.
Segment Two: RADEP
In this 4-hour session, we explore the various factors that contribute to reckless and aggressive driving, while imparting strategies to steer clear of circumstances that promote dangerous driving habits, such as distracted driving. Participants will acquire practical skills that can be applied in everyday driving scenarios, enabling them to navigate the bustling roadways of Virginia with utmost safety.
